Xanadu Reopens

On Sunday March 5 at just after 6PM, Club Xanadu reopened it's doors to regular events. Long one of the noted buildings of the Sunweaver and Angels community, having been around in a skybox high above HV Community since May 2009. The club is based on the Pan-Pacific Auditorium, which in the movie Xanadu was the abandoned building given a new lease on life as a nightclub (it is not linked in any way to the Pan Pacific Auditorium replica which was around in the sim of the same name in 2010). The building is owned and run by RECoyote Mindes and Perri Prinz. 

Perri Prinz is known as a first class classic rock DJ with an impressive collection of 60s and 70s music, and still DJs on occasion at Club Cutlass and The Gathering Oak. So Xanadu has always had the look of a classic rock club with pictures of albums of music at the time. The dance floor a spiral of colors with a turning record in the center. The outside of the club, the name in lights and neon lights around the building.

In July 2015, the club closed it's doors to regular events due to the real life difficulties of the owners. But now it was finally open for real (virtually real anyway). Over two dozen were at the event that night, perhaps close to three.  Christine Rhodes was the DJ for the party. The contest theme was 60s and 70s with a small prize for the best male and female apiece.

Not everyone was on the dance floor. A few stood from the rafters looking down.

The club has a number of special effects. At one point, hearts were coming down.

At another point, bubbles floated around the room.

And yes, the place had its own fog machine.

There were a number of songs from the 60s and 70's played that night, including the theme song of the movie that inspired the club.

Xanadu has officially reopened, but has yet to have a set weekly schedule. The club did have an event on Wednesday March 8 with Skylark Lefavre as the DJ and the theme as Japanese. Currently, the club is looking for both hosts and DJs. If you're interested, IM Perri Prinz or Recoyote Mindes.
